Ben Jaskiewicz

Ben Jaskiewicz is a Vice President at Herren Associates, leading the firm’s Full-Spectrum Cyber Operations to disrupt threats and safeguard critical missions. With 15 years of experience supporting the Department of the Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Cost & Economics), and the Defense Cost and Research Center, Ben drives initiatives that strengthen cyber resilience, implement Zero Trust controls for mission-critical operational technology, enhance platform and weapon system cybersecurity, and streamline RMF and ATO lifecycles.

At Herren, Ben provides technical and financial leadership for strategic Navy programs, including the DDG(X) Guided Missile Destroyer and previously the Navy’s Electric Ships Office, leveraging advanced analytics, integrated scheduling, cost modeling, and Earned Value Management.

Previously at Technomics, Ben supported unmanned aerial systems cost studies for the Naval Center for Cost Analysis, developing comprehensive parametric cost models, normalizing payload and system costs, and performing rigorous cost-performance analyses.

Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics (minor in Mathematics) from Saint Mary’s College of Maryland, is a certified PMP, and holds the CompTIA Security+ certification.

Max Watstein is a recognized expert in cost estimating and economic analysis, providing leaders throughout the Department of Defense with rigorous analytics and actionable insights. At Herren, Max delivers analysis to the NAVSEA Cost Engineering and Industrial Analysis Directorate, helping to form the basis for major program decisions by program office, resource sponsor, and Fleet stakeholders. He also leads advanced curriculum development as a Subject Matter Expert for the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), developing new course material and leading the instruction of courses focused on risk, uncertainty, and advanced analytical techniques to strengthen defense program decision-making.

Before joining Herren, Max provided analytical support across the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, and the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD). He has extensive experience developing detailed lifecycle cost estimates, independent cost evaluations, and rigorous business case analyses for complex defense systems and programs.

Max earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (C/CEA®). He previously served as Treasurer for the Washington Capital Area Chapter of ICEAA’s Board of Directors.

Scott Crews, CAPT, USNR (Ret.), is an experienced executive who has extensive program management, financial management, and technical business operations experience. He has a demonstrated track record of successfully managing technical projects to meet all cost, schedule, and performance objectives.

Scott retired from the U.S. Navy in June 2019 concluding a 30-year career as a Surface Warfare Officer and Information Officer. His tours included: USS Briscoe (DD 977), USS Kidd (DDG 993), the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and regional and national naval intelligence staffs. He served multiple Commanding Officer tours at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM).

His degrees include: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University; Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a Master’s in Business Administration in Management from Johns Hopkins University. His professional certifications include: Professional Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), and Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Manager.

Alan Crews serves as the Human Resources and Recruiting Manager for Herren Associates, and draws upon 10 years of talent acquisition and human capital experience within the Public Sector as he leads the firm’s recruitment strategies and HR initiatives, with an emphasis on employee engagement, retention and wellbeing. His professional background includes work at organizations of myriad sizes, from an 8(a) firm to the big four, and prior to joining Herren Associates he specialized in the recruitment of Cyber Security professionals throughout DoD and Intel portfolios. Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English & History from East Carolina University and is SHRM-SCP certified.
